I have an informed opinion having purchased this "deluxe" version recently as well as having had the Hitachi Magic Wand and the A&E Magic Massager (the basic model) in the past. Don't buy an electric massager & expect it to be as quiet as a battery powered vibrator because they aren't but they aren't so loud that they "let the neighbors know what you're doing" either. ALL of them will get hot the ...longer you run it, this model included, but I've never been burned by one or had it overheat and the motor die. Every one I've had in the past has died for the same reason- after a year or more, they developed a short where the cord meets the body of the massager. Avoid that by not putting extra stress on the cord. THIS model works just as well as A&E's basic model but it has additional speeds other than a "high" and "low" and different pulsation patterns. I like the additional speeds, don't have much need for the pulse settings but given that I got it 50% off with a code, I have no complaints at all. Read more
